VPNs for ad-blocking Following Microsoft’s Surface design aesthetic, the Mobile Mouse is sleek with a matte finish on the plastic chassis and a stainless steel scroll wheel which pops out and gives the mouse a premium feel. The Mobile Mouse connects to your computer over Bluetooth, which is handy if you have a machine that has Bluetooth hardware. Most computer mice have alternate connection options, like a detachable wired option or wireless with a USB receiver. Bluetooth has the advantage of being truly wireless and dongle-free, and that it is possible to connect it to devices like smartphones and tablets, but the lack of options will make it impossible for some people to make use of this mouse. There aren’t many options for customisation at all with this mouse. You can change some basic settings and assign a custom command to the scroll wheel click action. But I think my biggest concern is the long-term comfort of using a mouse with a flat, slim profile like this. I can see how this shape and size are perfect for road warriors who want something small and light to chuck in their bag with their laptop, and who may spend an hour at a time in a cafe catching up on emails, but I don’t see myself using this mouse day-in, day-out at my desk in the office. Otherwise, the Surface Mobile Mouse is a great device that works as expected and looks great in the process.
