Even if you are not interested in any motivation, the widgets look pretty cool on an empty home screen. I was kind of disappointed while researching for this article because there aren’t many options available when it comes to motivational widgets for Android. Sure, you can easily get some great quote apps for Android and call it a day, some even come with dedicated widgets but not all quotes are motivational. Nonetheless, I was able to find some good widgets to help keep you motived, but don’t expect customization miracles here, some widgets don’t work that great on certain backgrounds. Note: The 5 widgets to help keep you motivated were tested on a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone. The widgets worked fine and no problems were faced during testing. Some of the widgets may not look great on lighter backgrounds and vice versa for darker ones, so feel free to experiment. The widgets are not in any particular order.

I understand that the collection in this list is a bit lackluster, I was also disappointed with the offerings on Google Play Store. This is one of those lists where just having a bit of an option is fine. At the end of the day, you’re still reading a motivational quote even though it looks a bit off. It however changes the quotes daily, so you will have your daily dose of motivation ready every morning. I personally don’t like to read the same quote day after day, so this is a great feature to have. The app works well and has a fairly standard UI, it’s the widget that makes it feel odd. The backgrounds can be changed thankfully, so you can use a few of the darker ones because the text will always be white and small. Apart from the design quirks, the widget does deliver some great motivational quotes right on your home screen. Free Version

There is also a daily navigation system in place, so you can easily program it to update the quote and inform you about it. One of the best things about this app is that you’ll be able to share inspirational quotes easily with your friends. The whole content is available offline, so you don’t need to have an active Internet connection to load quotes. Another great thing is that you’ll be able to make wallpapers and backgrounds using the quotes. While the app is very well polished, the widget is a bit rougher, it’s not bad but it could have seen more improvements. Free Version

One of the best things about this motivational/inspirational widget is that it allows a wide range of customization. From making the widget transparent to changing the font color of the quotes you’ll be able to do a lot of things. I also like how you can easily change the background color of the quote widget and even add it to the lock screen. If you like to customize your widgets a lot, this one is a good option for you.
